![]() If you only see blue subpixels, you've got B-G-R which interferes with Microsoft ClearType unless you tune it.Ĥ. Use a magnifying glass at leftmost edge of a bright white screen if you see only red subpixels, you got R-G-B. Use ClearType Tuner (Use Internet Explorer for that page) to swap the ClearType renderer to switch from R-G-B subpixels to B-G-R subpixels. Some televisions make this difficult to adjust.ģ. If your TV does not have that, different "zoom" or "aspect ratio" settings, until text becomes perfectly sharp and the whole Start Menu Bar shows up. Adjust a TV to perfect 1:1 pixel mapping at 1920x1080. Choose a good quality 1080p LCD TV with 4:4:4 capability see hardforum threadĢ. Any game I throw at it in fact.Ĭlick to expand. Many TV's make quite poor monitors, but there's many ways to make them quite decent monitors (if you don't sit too close):ġ. I heard well over 50 people tell me throughout the day or utter to others / friends they were buying this display. But after I explained it had LG's PC heritage built into the monitor, the expert control settings, 4:4:4 support, etc. They couldn't believe it was actually a HDTV. I actually took the display to a 300+ person LAN party here in Kansas City and everyone, I mean EVERYONE was drooling over it. I've been loving this monitor for 2 days now. HDMI, LED, Low Latency, Good Warranty, Performance, Semi-Gloss Screen, Thin Bezel, etc etc. Anyways, yeah, this new LG LN for 2013 is everything you want in a large format PC monitor. Real enthusiasts know there is never a right or wrong monitor, it's about what you are passionate about. Advice from a 15 year old mentality is never good. That really betrayed whoever that was credibility. The kids screaming for small 2560x1440 monitors are rookies, ignore them. Admittedly, its an older model (these stupid fucking monitor companies don't make 16x10 much anymore) but still, it leaves me a little worried about buying a new LG. Its been having trouble powering on the last few days and today it just wouldn't turn on at all. The only thing holding me back from immediately going to BB and picking on up on your recommendation is that my 2nd monitor is an LG, a 24" 16x10 LG which just fucking broke. I must admit that I'm tempted! I'll have to read that AVS thread and see what I think. ![]() Your comments above about that LG are very interesting. There is also a dark band across the top (not too bad, but noticeable). One of the HDMI inputs doesn't work, and in generally the monitor is really starting to have a lot of burn in. That being said, it is finally starting to die. I feel like I'm right in the battle in Battlefield 3 I have NO problems dealing with a big ass monitor on my desk. Its been so awesome gaming on this thing over the years. I also have a 37" which is going tits up.
